Spell Check Isn’t a Sign of Weakness
Using the grammar check tool on a computer isn’t a sign of weakness. It is actually one of the smartest things a writer can do to show professionalism. After all, an editor expects a writer to use the English language correctly. Verbs and nouns must agree. Modifiers must be placed correctly. Sentences should not be fragments unless the writer intends for them to be. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Using grammar check is just a smart way to put the finishing touches on an article or advertisement.
The thesaurus online also provides this kind of safety net for the writer. Instead of viewing thesaurus online as a weakness, smart writers view the thesaurus as a way to ensure that their words vary.
It isn’t a sign of weakness to use the spell checker either. Everyone mistypes. Everyone misspells one or more words without even realizing it. Letting the computer do its job helps writers feel they have done their best work.
